Gonesse ceremony welcomes new town into violin project

On October 13 we held another presentation ceremony—this time marking the official launch of A violin can change the world in Gonesse, where six local schools have been participating since September.

Gonesse is now one of seven** Val d’Oise towns participating in the project, and for local elected officials and municipal staffers, it was important to share the enthusiasm of the teaching teams who had successfully applied to enter the project at the beginning of the year.
Children from René Coty school acted as ambassadors for all of the others, receiving their violins from Hélène and Pierre Vareille; Malika Caumont, First Deputy Mayor of Gonesse; and Matthieu Pointreau, a representative of the French Education Ministry.
After the ceremony, violinist Luis Joves Molina delighted the attendees with a warm, rousing performance of Venezuelan music, accompanied by bass and guitar.
