How music shapes the brain

On June 21 CQFD, an RTS program on science and health, celebrated World Music Day with a segment on music’s benefits for the brain. The guests were two prominent scientists:

Clara James, full professor at the Geneva School of Health Sciences and head of the Geneva Musical Minds Lab, discussed music’s effects on health.

Emmanuel Bigand, orchestra member, researcher and professor of cognitive psychology at the University of Burgundy, described music’s benefits for the health of premature infants and its role in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
